Chicago Bulls: Where Are They Now?

This feature of "Where are they now?" feautes Khalid El-Amin. He was a member of the 1999 UConn men's basketball team that won the NCAA championship. He is originally from Minnesota where he played for North High School in Minneapolis. In 2000, he was selected in the 2nd round by the Chicago Bulls of the NBA Draft and played 50 games for them, averaging 6.3 points and 2.9 assists per game. I remember in 2000 in the Rookie-Sophomore challenge Khalid decided to kill. He had 18 points in that game.

Now after a sub par NBA stint, he is now a celebrity overseas. El-Amin currently plays for Türk Telekom B.K. of the Turkish basketball league. He has also played in the CBA and the Ukrainen Basketball League. He joined Besiktas Istanbul of the Turkish league in August 2003. Dominating the league for two seasons, El-Amin was second in scoring (20.9) and third in assists (5.2) in his first season. In 2005, he led the league in assists and averaged 20.4 points a game. He was named MVP of the Turkish League All-Star Game in 2005 and was a member of the World Team at the 2005 FIBA Europe All-Star Game.

Khalid El-Amin a MVP. Nuff Said. Peace
