Like we didn't already Noah...

According to an article by Lisa Fisher of the Gainsville Sun...

"Gainesville Police issued a notice to appear in court to former Gator basketball standout Joakim Noah based on allegations of possession of less than 20 grams of cannibis and an open container violation early Sunday.
Noah, 23, was spotted by police in the 100 block of S. Main Street at about 1:50 a.m., said GPD spokeswoman Officer Summer Hallett. Police reported he was carrying what appeared to be a clear plastic cup with an iced, amber-colored beverage inside. Noah put the cup down when he saw law enforcement, she said. Police checked the cup and said it smelled like an alcoholic-beverage.

Police took Noah to the department's downtown annex. While at the annex, officers reported they found a cannibis cigarette in his pants pocket, Hallett said.
The notice to appear means Noah has a court appearance on the charges in June, Hallett said.
It is standard procedure to issue a notice to appear instead of take someone to jail based on these charges, Hallett said. Officers can jail a person in this kind of case but generally do not if a person is cooperative and there are no other issues such as the individual cannot be positively identified. Hallett noted that Noah was "very cooperative" with police when he was stopped.
Noah recently completed his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. "

Maybe Noah was burning down a blunt in celebration of the first pick??? I can't get mad because I know the BullsWeekly.com staff did the same thing...

According to espn.com

" GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Authorities in Gainesville have charged Chicago Bulls forward and former Florida star Joakim Noah with possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol.

Noah
Gainesville police spokesman Sgt. Rick Roberts said Noah was arrested around 1:50 a.m. Sunday after an officer spotted him on a sidewalk holding a plastic cup containing an amber drink, a violation of city law. During a search at the station, officers found marijuana in his pocket.
Noah was released after signing a notice to appear before a judge -- standard procedure for such offenses. He could face up to 6 months in jail and a $500 fine for the marijuana charge.
Noah led the Gators to back-to-back national championships before being picked ninth overall in last June's draft by the Bulls."
